Boeing, Demand For The 737 MAX Is Increasing

Customer demand for narrow body commercial jets is increasing, including the Boeing 737 MAX series.

Darren Hulst, Vice President of Commercial Marketing at Boeing said this at the Paris Air Show 2023 which is currently taking place.

Hulst stressed that the aviation industry bounced back well in the post-pandemic recovery period.

"Currently, global capacity and traffic are close to 95% or pre-pandemic levels," he said,

In addition, he added, the fleet returned to 97% of the number of active aircraft four years ago and flight capacity and traffic were not far behind.
"Since Farnborough last July, Boeing has received orders and commitments for more than 1,100 new jets – that's just in the last 10 months," explained Hulst

Although the order covers the entire Boeing family, it said it was primarily driven by demand for the 737 jets.

“The single aisle market has obviously recovered the fastest.

Today there is 5% more single aisle capacity than in 2019.

So this market segment is not only recovering, but also growing again,” he said.

It was emphasized that this is true in all major regions of the world, namely in Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America, Europe, and even the emerging markets of Africa and the Middle East.
